ROAD RAGE

Around 2:48 p.m., Aug. 29, Warwick Police responded to the intersection of Post Road and Sandlewood Avenue for the report of an ongoing road rage incident where a driver threw an object at the other vehicle, allegedly causing damage.

Police identified one of the drivers as Yanessa L. Diaz, 24, of 34 Youngs Ave., West Warwick.

Occupants of the other car told police that they were traveling on Elmwood Avenue east toward Post Road, approaching the Shell gas station at the intersection, the Toyota Camry “in front of them weas beeping their horn at another vehicle,” according to the arrest report.

“The Camry then stayed stopped in the lane of travel and did not move,” Warwick Police Officer Jackson A. Acciaioli wrote in the report. The other drive told police that he honked and drove around the other vehicle.

“After he went around her she drove up on the side of him and threw an object at the passenger side of his vehicle,” Acciaioli wrote. “This object left scratches on his right rear passenger quarter panel. He stated the car was just detailed and the damage was not previously there.”

The driver followed the other vehicle and called police, telling officers he wanted to pursue charges.

Police located and spoke to Diaz, the driver of the other vehicle.

“Diaz eventually stated that she did throw a metal car part at the other vehicle during the road rage incident,” Acciaioli wrote. “She stated that she would pay for the damage.”

Police arrested Diaz and charged her with Throwing Article at Moving Vehicle, a misdemeanor.

Araujo spotted a man and a woman sleeping at a picnic table outside the motel. He asked them if they were “okay due to them being asleep outside.”

He identified the man as Jose A. Arias Hernandez, 21, of Providence. According to Warwick Police, Hernandez had active warrants out of Central Falls for Breaking and Entering, Felony Assault/Dangerous Weapon, Conspiracy, Simple Assault/Battery, and Disorderly Conduct.

NO LICENSE

Around 8:48 a.m., Aug. 26, Warwick Police working a traffic detail on Jefferson Boulevard spotted a white 1998 Ford van pass by their location and the driver was allegedly not wearing a seatbelt.

Police initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Dino J. Depina, 29, of 24 Haven Ave., Apt. 2, Cranston.

Police checked Depina’s record and found his driver’s license had been suspended.

“Depina was found to have three prior convictions out of RI for driving on a suspended license,” Warwick Police Lt. Jedidiah D. Pineau wrote in the arrest report.

A tow truck was called to the scene.

“During an inventory of the vehicle I located an empty Corona beer bottle next to the drivers seat which appeared to have been dumped out as there was an overwhelming odor of alcohol coming from the area,” Pineau wrote in the report. Police also found a “second opened, half full, and still cold to the touch Corona beer bottle to the rear of the driver’s seat near the partition separating the cargo area from passenger area of the van.”

Depina was arrested and charged with Driving with Suspended/Revoked/Cancelled License (fourth or subsequent offense, a misdemeanor).
