Raymond L. Stomberg

Raymond L. Stomberg, age 91, of Warwick, passed away at home on Monday, September 19, 2022.  He was the husband of the late Adelaide M. “Laidy” (Hallock) Stomberg.  They were married for 69 years.

Born in Providence, the son of the late Gustov Victor Stomberg and Elizabeth (Idskou) Stomberg, he lived in Warwick for the last 60 years.

Mr. Stomberg was the proprietor of Grandpa’s Train Depot on Warwick Avenue in Warwick for the last 25 years.  He was previously employed at E. G. & G. Sealol in Warwick for almost 20 years.

He is survived by four sons and a daughter, David R. Stomberg of Colorado Springs, CO, Elizabeth S. Blackburn of Wellington, FL, Kenneth E. Stomberg of Charlestown, RI, Jeffrey R. Stomberg of Coventry, and Douglas A. Stomberg of West Greenwich; twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 27, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Requiem Eucharist at 10 a.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church, 139 Ocean Avenue, Cranston.  Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4-7 p.m.  Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church.
