Robert M. Foster, 76, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022 at home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Paula J. (Grandchamp) Foster and the son of the late James T. and Dorothy M. (Condon) Foster. Bob was the manager of the Backstop in Warwick, which he opened with his father, Jim Foster and Mike Boyajian. He also worked for RIPTA and at the Pilgrim Senior Center before retiring. Bob loved his family, was a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan but loved watching all sports, especially New England teams. He had coached for many years, girls’ softball, boys little league and PAL and also soccer. He cherished the years he coached and played softball for the Backstop. He loved Block Island and was an expert in sports trivia. He will be remembered for his kind heart and infectious sense of humor which was reflected in his beautiful blue eyes. He was the devoted father of Robert J. and Kelli L. Foster, and the loving brother of James F. Foster (Suzanne) and the late William Foster (Catherine A.). He was the brother-in-law of, Wayne Grandchamp (the late Suzanne) and William Grandchamp (Susan), he also leaves his loving nephews, Jimmy Foster (Narelle), Jarred Foster (Erin), and Jesse Foster. Bob was also a loving son-in-law to the late Joseph and Lillian (Cayton) Grandchamp and uncle of the late Billy Grandchamp.

His funeral will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 10am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane, Warwick. Visiting hours, Friday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to VNA of Care New England Hospice, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated.
