The first of three one-week Youth Leadership Camps sponsored by Warwick Police got under way this week with a series of activities that includes tours of the Police and Fire Department headquarters, games and projects. Today the 23 campers will be visiting Rock Spot Climbing and the South County Living History Museum where camp director Officer Jim Vible, at right, said the youths will come face-to-face with farm animals and a lot of other cool things. There are a couple of spots open in the next two weeks – those interested should check with the department. Vible said camp objects include promoting accountability, self worth and teamwork. Tuition is $50 for the 4-day camp. Modeling the camp T-shirt at the end of a tour of police headquarters is Jacob Balbuena. (Warwick Beacon photo)
