Sandra “Sandy” A. Edmundson, 60, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 11, 2022. A New Bedford native, Sandra most recently called Warwick, Rhode Island her home where she lived with her wife of 11 years, Jo-Ann Schofield, and her three dogs, Buster, Captain, and Rosie. She was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Patricia L. (Goulart) Edmundson. She leaves behind two stepdaughters, Jonelle Cliff (husband, Joshua) and Justine Harrington (husband, Timothy), a brother, Charles Edmundson, and her dear Aunt Beverly Edmundson. She also leaves behind her niece and nephew Kelsey and Jameson L’heureux, and several cousins.
A retired nurse of 28 years, Sandra loved to bring a spark of humor and joy to the patients and families she cared for at various hospitals, including St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. She lived and loved fiercely and on her own terms, a quality both deeply endearing and at times equally frustrating to her closest loved ones. May you rest in peace, under your favorite palm tree, soaking in the sun as you soaked in life. A special thank you to the staff at West Shore Health Center for their excellent care and friendship.
A Celebration of Sandy’s Life will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 30 Jefferson Dr., East Greenwich, RI 02818.
