Spring was not very kind to movie lovers, but there is hope on the horizon.

“Downton Abbey: A New Era” opened May 20 at Warwick Showcase, Apple Cinemas and the Avon.

Tom Cruise flies in on Memorial Day weekend with a “Top Gun” sequel.

For those who like the TV cartoon, there’s a “Bob’s Burgers” movie.

What is billed as the final “Jurassic Park” movie is scheduled for June 10.

Buzz Lightyear takes center stage in the cartoon feature “Lightyear” on June 17.

“Elvis” comes to life June 24, followed by yet another “Minions” on July 1.

“Thor” thunders in on July 8.

“Where the Crawdads Sing,” based on one of the best novels I have read in a long time, opens July 15.

“Nope” opens July 22, followed by “League of Super Pets” and “Bullet Train” on July 29.

“The Man From Toronto” hits the big screen August 12, followed by “Samaritan” on August 26.

There will be more, and we will be there.

Watch for “Hustle” on Netflix on June 8, “Good Luck to You, Leo Grande” on Hulu on June 17 and “The Gray Man” on Netflix on July 22.
