Rita F. (Duffy) Sharbuno, age 71, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023. She was the wife of the late Carl W. Sharbuno. Born in Providence, she was one of five children born to the late John P. and Margaret (O’Loughlin) Duffy. Rita was the cherished mother of Dawn Wallentin (Jason Murphy), Lori Sharbuno (Shawn Bell) and CJ Sharbuno (Crystal); sister of John Duffy, Margaret Duffy and the late Martin Duffy and Anna Duffy.
Rita was blessed with the ‘gift of gab’ and enjoyed talking on the phone with her friends and family. A self-declared junk food addict, she loved her snacks, especially Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. She loved listening to her oldies-but-goodies music and playing Bingo at Foxwoods. Most of all, Rita loved her family and all of the traditions they celebrated during the holidays. St. Patrick’s Day was her favorite as she was very proud of her Irish heritage. She loved gathering everyone together to celebrate with a delicious meal.
Her visitation will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 4-7PM followed by a service at 7PM in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial will be private.
