More than 150 Hendricken football team alumni returned to the school Friday for the naming of the football field and stadium for longtime coach Ed Fracassa. Fracassa embraced the school’s football program at a time when Hendricken was set to be closed and the team had a single victory in Division 4. Fracassa turned the program around, helping make the school the athletic powerhouse it has become. At a reception prior to Friday’s ceremony, Fracassa reconnected with players as well as fellow football coach, Emo DiNitto, left, who coached at Hendricken for eight years before moving on to Pilgrim High School. Terence Fracassa writes of his father’s achievements in today’s sports section. (Warwick Beacon photo)
