Barbara Jean Alexander Skorski, 85, of Traverse City, MI, passed away on January 27, 2025, in Troy, MI, and is at peace after her long battle with Alzheimer's.

Born on September 12, 1939, in Medford, MA, to Agustus "Bob" and Caroline Dowling Alexander, Barb was a devoted mother and a compassionate psychiatric nurse. Raised in Rhode Island, she later made Michigan her home after graduating from nursing school. She dedicated her career to caring for others at the State Hospital and then Munson Hospital until her retirement. In her later years, she embraced her creative side through her craft show business, Barb's Beauti-Knits, and rekindled her love of dancing.

Barbara is survived by her sister Dorothy "Dottie" McKittrick (Hal); sister-in-law Anita Alexander; her first husband Jeremy "Jerry" Chapman; her children Kevin Chapman, Tom Chapman (Mary), and Michelle Chapman (Scott Anderson); three grandsons—Duncan Chapman-Anderson, Cole Chapman, and Aidan Chapman-Anderson; and stepdaughter Jackie Francis (Al). She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. She is reunited in passing with her beloved husband Gerald "Jerry" Skorski, her parents, and her brother Robert "Bob" Alexander.
