A Thanksgiving feast
PACKING IT IN: Seventh graders Chloe Burns and Madelynn Iozzi pack one of 30 food baskets the school assembled for donation through Sts. Rose and Clement Church.
GIFT CERTIFICATES: St. Rose of Lima School principal Kim Izzi hands over $25 gift certificates to Denise Foggo that will be given with each basket. Izzi wears a feathered hat for the occasion. “We have to make people laugh, [at these difficult times]” she asserts.
ASSEMBLY LINE: Students work on the Thanksgiving food baskets.
The St. Rose of Lima School annual Thanksgiving Food Drive went into high gear this week as students arrived at school with donations and then assembled 30 baskets for distribution through Sts. Rose and Clement Church on Friday. Middle School Religion teacher Denise Foggo coordinates the drive that is part of her students’ community service. In addition to donations of food, the students and their families also made monetary donations enabling the purchase of $25 gift certificates for each basket that recipients will use to buy turkeys. On Wednesday students assembled the baskets remaining socially distanced and working efficiently, which had Foggo smiling – even visible as she wore a mask. (Warwick Beacon photos)
