FIRST DEGREE ROBBERY
According to the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office, on Oct. 21, the Statewide Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Danielle DelQuaglio, 42, of Coventry, with one count of first-degree robbery. The alleged acts occurred in Town of West Warwick on or about Sept. 26, 2023, according to the AG’s Office. The West Warwick Police Department conducted the investigation. DelQuaglio is scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 15, in Kent County Superior Court.
DRUG POSSESSION
According to the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office, on Oct. 21, the Statewide Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Ryan Lackey, 27, of Cranston, with one count of possession of more than one kilogram of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (methamphetamine), one count of carrying a pistol without a license, one count of possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (methamphetamine), and one count of possession of a large capacity feeding device.
The alleged acts occurred in city of Warwick on or about Jan. 10, according to the AG’s Office. The Warwick Police Department conducted the investigation. Lackey is scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 15, in Kent County Superior Court.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Around 12:49 a.m., Oct. 26, Cranston Police Officers arrested Nathan Buffi, 25, of 94 Cleveland Ave., No. 52 , West Warwick, for Disorderly Conduct. The arrest was the result of a call for service at The Thirsty Beaver, 288 Atwood Ave. Buffi was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, according to Cranston Police.
WARRANT ARREST
Around 1:07 a.m., Oct. 24, Cranston Police Officers arrested Aaron Muniz, 35, of 125 Elmdale Ave., Providence, on an Arrest & Affidavit warrant from Warwick Police for Domestic Simple Assault and Domestic Disorderly Conduct. The arrest was the result of a call for service at McDonald’s, 923 Cranston St. Muniz was turned over to Warwick Police.
DRUG POSSESSION
Around 10:48 a.m., Sept. 24, Warwick Police Officer Kevin P. Grant Jr. was on a National Highway Safety Transportation Administration Click It Or Ticket enforcement detail traveling north on Bald Hill Road, when he spotted a driver “clearly not wearing his seatbelt.”
The driver was behind the wheel of a maroon Lexus traveling south. Grant pulled a U-turn and checked the vehicle registration. According to police, the plate “came back to another vehicle.”
Grant initiated a traffic stop in the parking lot of Haxton’s Toll Gate Liquors. Police identified the driver as Brandon Mitchell, 32, of 30 Glenham St., Providence.
“He immediately stated that his license was currently suspended when I requested his license and paperwork for the vehicle,” Grant wrote in the arrest report.
Grant later discovered that “this would be his fourth offense for driving with a suspended license.” A fourth offense escalates the charge from a citation to a misdemeanor.
Mitchell was removed from the vehicle and handcuffed. He was searched. According to police, “Mitchell advised that he had ecstasy pills on his person.”
Grant “located (the) pills in the small cargo pocket of his jeans.”
Mitchell was escorted to Warwick Police Headquarters, processed and placed in a cell.
Police said a “field test” of the pills “yielded a positive result for fentanyl.” The tablets weighed 4.2 grams and were tagged as evidence.
Mitchell was charged with Driving with a Suspended License (fourth or subsequent offense), Possession of a Controlled Substance (less than 10 grams), and issued citations for Operation of Unregistered Vehicle and No Seat Belt-Operator.
DUI
Around 1:43 a.m., Sept. 26, Warwick Police Officer Brent W. Giles was on routine patrol in the area of Post Road when he spotted a green Chevrolet Camaro with Massachusetts plates make “a wide right turn” from Airport Road onto Post Road northbound.
Giles followed the vehicle and allegedly watched its tires cross the line “into oncoming traffic,” and the driver seemed to be overcorrecting in the opposite direction.
Police initiated a traffic stop.
Giles “immediately noticed” the driver had “extremely bloodshot, watery eyes and (a) slurred speech pattern.”
Police identified the driver as Trevor J. Pettengill, 26, of 243 Pine St. Ext., Attleboro, Massachusetts.
Pettengill allegedly told police he had been drinking at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut earlier that night.
Police asked Pettengill to consent to a series of standardized field sobriety tests. He agreed.
Following the tests, Pettengill was arrested and charged with DUI of Liquor (BAC unknown) and cited for Refusal to Submit to a Preliminary Breath Test, Laned Roadway Violations and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.
He was placed in a cell pending arraignment in Third District Court.
DUI
Around 11:46 p.m., Sept. 27, Warwick Police on patrol were advised that a white pickup truck was “reportedly failing to maintain its lane of travel” on Warwick Neck Avenue. Police responded to the area and found a truck matching the description had crashed through the front gate of 1350 Warwick Neck Ave.
Police identified the driver as Brayan Rodriguez, 35, of 15 Maria Ave., Johnston.
He told police that he was not injured, and allegedly admitted to “drinking” at Old Theater Diner, where he allegedly consumed 4-5 Heinekens. He told police that he was “attempting to travel back to his residence in Johnston and may have fallen asleep at the wheel prior to the accident,” according to the arrest report.
Warwick Police Officer Michael J. Rosa noted that the driver had “fresh vomit on is clothing.”
Police asked Rodriguez to consent to a series of standardized field sobriety tests. He agreed.
Following the tests, he was arrested and charged with DUI of Liquor (BAC unknown, first offense) and cited for Leaving the Lane of Travel and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.
