William J. Armstrong, Jr., age 65, of Warwick, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, June 25, 2022.
Born in Providence, the son of the late William J. and Rose P. (O’Neill) Armstrong, he was a life-long Warwick resident and graduate of Pilgrim High School class of 1974.
Bill enjoyed sitting at the beach at Conimicut Point, going to the gym and talking sports to anyone who would listen.
A Boston Celtics fan since he was 12 years old, he would cheer them on at both The Boston Garden and on television.
Bill was a regular fixture at the door of the Grid Iron Ale House.
He is survived by his daughter, Kaitlynn K. (Armstrong) Johnson (Brian) of Warwick; and four sisters, Lynda P. Cavanagh of South Kingstown, Kathleen E. Larson of Coventry, Maureen E. Cobb of Warwick, and Paula M. Armstrong of Warwick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 1, at 11a.m., in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington Street, Coventry. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
