The Rhode Island middle school outdoor track and field championships were recently held at Narragansett and many locals made some noise on the big stage.
Here is a look at some of the results from the afternoon.
Jack Larrivee took first in the discus for Winman while Caden Stowik finished first in the 400 dash for Vets. Vets’ Patrick Rowe took first in the 1,500 run.
Larivee finished fourth in the shot put for the Warriors, while teammate Kevin Barker took fourth in the high jump.
Winman’s Sean Anderson finished fifth in the discus while Luke Brodeur finished sixth in the 800 dash for Winman. Vets’ William Oye finished sixth in the javelin and seventh in the high jump.
Fred Russell finished eighth in the 1,500 run for Vets. Oisin O’Donnell finished ninth in the 1,500 run for Winman, while teammate Steven DeRuzzo finished ninth in the javelin.
Stowik later finished 10th in the 800 dash.
Bain’s Kaeson Kong won the shot put and later took second in the discus.
Jazmill Castro took fourth in the long jump for Hope Highlands, while teammate Aidan Fowler finished fifth in the 80 hurdles.
Bain’s Alex Prado took sixth in the discus, while Hope Highlands’ Ryan Stoloff took seventh in the 400 dash. Teammate Shephard Butler took seventh in the 3,000 run.
Castro finished 10th in the 200 dash for Hope Highlands while Park View’s Cohen Brinker placed 10th in the 1,500.
Maggie Buffery finished second in the discus for Vets while Camryn Bromage finished third in the 3,000 run for Vets.
Buffery took eighth in the shot put for Vets while teammate Jadryn Moore took eighth in the discus. Moore finished ninth in shot put while Hannah Chasse finished 10th in the discus for Winman.
Reece Vitale finished second in the 400 dash for Hope Highlands.
Guilana Luke took third in the discus for Bain while Western Hills’ Victoria Bramble took third in the 1,500 run. Vitale finished third in the 80 hurdles as well.
Bramble finished fifth in the 800 dash for Western Hills while Sadie Butler took fifth in the javelin.
Janaisia Schwartz finished sixth in the 200 dash for Western Hills while Maya Cicchitelli placed sixth in the 80 hurdles. Arianna Chay later took seventh in the shot put for Bain
Jasenya Otero finished eighth in the 100 dash for Western Hills while Park View’s Saniyya Chase took eighth in the long jump.
Ahmara Spann finished ninth in the 100 dash for Park View while Jayla Morales finished ninth in the 200 dash for Bain. Otero later took 10th in the 200 dash while Stella Pellagio finished 10th in the 3,000 run.
