This is not about trust, this is about poor management over a long period of time. The bridges and roads did not become damaged overnight by these trucks. It is the result of our DOT and the inability to do routine maintenance over the years. The utility companies do the most damage to roads with the shoddy patch work of repairs. I doubt they ever heard of a compactor. Why are they not held accountable. Forget about some fixed percent of the work going to some special interest group, here is a novel idea why not hire the most qualified company from where ever or who ever they are.The relationship btw our contractors and DOT is a joke. I am sure we could look at the workman ship on prior jobsand pick the best workmanship at any cost. I learned in business doing it right the first time cost less than doing it a second time. Lets not buy more substandard asphalt and concrete so I don't have to pay again and again.

I cringe every time I drive north on I95 from Warwick to Cranston and see that crumbling wall made from sand stone. Lastly not tolling ten wheel dump trucks, cement mixers and garbage trucks is a insult to my intelligence. Heavy load on a short wheel base does more damage than a load dispersed over a longer wheel base every time. Maybe it is about trust and not just incompetentance, so my answer like so many is to move. Count me as another good hard working taxpayer leaving the State. Deb let me know when you fix just some of the problems. Maybe I won't be so old that I am not drooling and still care.
