KICKOFF: High school football season got its unofficial beginning last week with Injury Fund preseason games on gridirons around the state. Pilgrim, Toll Gate and Warwick Vets took the field Thursday night at Vets, while Bishop Hendricken squared off against La Salle Academy on Friday. The games raised funds for the Rhode Island Interscholastic League Injury Fund, while also giving teams their first taste of a game atmosphere.
