"Court of public opinion," Dick? How about a real court, you know, of law?

Here's what a judge in a real court -- as opposed to your imaginary jury -- actually said about that: http://warwickonline.com/stories/judge-lifts-restriction-on-teacher-layoffs,115491?

See, the school committee has been negotiating, and has been doing the hard work of consolidating the district [although, arguably, it could have been done more quickly], which led to the layoffs that the union is appealing.

And the union -- as it has for too many years in Warwick -- dug in its heels and expected an easy court victory.

So, the real question is: When will the union stop with the games, stop with "right to work," and actually meet the school committee at something approaching a responsible compromise? And when will you admit that it takes two sides to actually negotiate a deal, instead of one side simply issuing demands and filing court actions?
