Are they naming this runway after Avedesian? After all, he did so much to make extension happen - ignored 75% of the largest voter turnout in the city's history AGAINST expansion, cut a deal with his fellow Republicrats on City Council, and showed up; at forums about expansion, where he gave impassioned speeches condemning RIAC for leaving the city out of the planning, damning the players and the process...and that's all. Never any comment on what he would do, what his administration's game plan was. And now we have displaced rats (who, apparently, didn't qualify for RIAC buyouts) relocating in Norwood and flights all night (and here's a clue for you, John Howell...people here are NOT used to this crap, and haven't accepting a damned thing, except that Avedesian is going to do whatever he wants. They're all still mad as hell, but they're also tired of, ahhh, urinating in the wind).

Patti Goldstein might think of the extension as “a huge milestone,” but if you live here, it's more like a massive millstone hanging from our necks.
