Councilman and Finance Chairman Ed Ladouceur, and the other 8 members of today's City Council are holding the line for the 80,000 taxpayers that are paying the tab. When the rule says you must submit a budget or a bid 60 days prior and you don't, the finance committee is supposed to say "No." Unlike many others in the past, THIS finance committee actually says "No.". When the bid is for a certain amount of money and the final bill is for more, the finance committee is supposed to say "No." Unlike many finance committees of the past, THIS finance committee actually says "No." The 2017/2018 finance committee is actually following the rules and I, for one, think the taxpayers are being represented better than ever before.
