I don't have that luxury. If I don't perform up to the goals and standards that have been placed on me by my employer then I will be fired. That is real life. There isn't a safety net of doing the bare minimum and still retaining a job. I call it theft of our tax dollars. If I don't perform then I face consequences but the difference is my salary isn't coming from the public. That is why they are held to a different standard. They are given the responsibility of teaching the children of the community and are paid by the citizens of the community.

The sick outs alone were the last straw. Parents were put in a bind and even more money came out of their pockets because they either had to stay at home or find a babysitter. UNACCEPTABLE. If they are not motivated enough to teach up to standard then they need to stop teaching in Warwick and go to another community. The median teachers salary in Warwick as of April 28, 2018 is between 51,000 - 67,000. The taxpayers and students deserve better than minimum effort until monetary compensation has been given that is acceptable to the union.
