Report Inappropriate Comments

Another example of Corrente pandering. The only time he compliments Hendrickens graduates is when he doesn't read the actual article and comments accidentally, thinking they are public school students who he can pander to. The same way he ignores the sickouts that forced schools to close, the lack of field trips for all students for almost 3 years, no after school activities or help, and no college letters of recommendation. Oh yes, for the 4 or 5 months after the teachers got their contracts I'm sure they were wonderful. However, their students are the ones who ultimately suffered. The school committee doesn't have a great track record overall (not this particular group of elected officials, I'm speaking of perception/reputation) but the WTU's behavior wasn't much better during negotiations.

I have many teachers in my family, so I will not be called anti teacher or anti union. Anyone who doesn't acknowledge the WTU's behavior as leaving more to be desired is lying. They are not being honest or objective. You cannot say you are for the kids while calling out abd forcing school closures. That is not right. Congratulations you got your money, but the behavior to get there was embarassing. I hope the WTU takes a step back to rethink their hardball tactics in future contracts. The city cannot afford anything else.
