The Warwick Fire Department Dive Team was awarded "SCBA" Dive Pins in October of 1997. This was after completing a program delivered by Peter Lema who was a "PADI" (Professional Association of Dive Instructors") instructor. I am unsure of the monetary cost ; however, Rob Cote did in fact place a bid to do the original training. He was unsuccessful in being awarded that

bid. After the bid award and from that moment forward to include the fire at his shop, he has what would normally be viewed as a "unhealthy" obsession with the Warwick Fire Department members. His broad brushed strokes would have people believe that Al Capone was running the WFD. He garnishment of the records are his presentation...has anyone checked to see if those records he refers to are the exact ones that he was given? How can he be the only wizard to read the forms? How can trained educated and experienced reporters fail? A bigger question is why does the editor of this paper not check factually with both sides before printing this drivel. There is no planned program to default the city. No one is perfect and mistakes are made. Bare minimum funds are spent annually on the Fire Department so a modern 2018 record system to today's technological standards are a dream. When trucks need to be replaced, why would one spend money on hardware and software? It is an Emergency Service not a Golfing Equipment Retailer or Manufacturer. Most who have an opinion of what goes on in fact have no idea. This includes Mr Rob Cote who has an awful lot of time on his hands coupled with an awful lot of snide comments. All because he did not get a bid award.
