I think there's been an avoidance mentality because all the choices are painful. At the end of the day, I believe the schools need adequate funding, and the council will provide most of that. To do that, they'll "borrow" from the rainy day fund until next year when we'll have another max tax increase (with more tax hikes to follow).

Rob Cote has presented some good ideas to reduce costs (to an extent), but the Warwick political class is probably unable to consider such ideas. So they will do what's easy, hike our taxes and keep it all going for another year.
