Ask yourself this: After 18 years with Mr. Solomon on the city council, is Warwick a better, more vibrant, more desirable, more affordable place than 18 years ago? I would urge the reader to answer this question by taking a drive that starts in the parking lot of the former "Hooters" on Airport Rd. Drive down Airport Road going east, through Hoxsie, all the way through Conimicut and up past Warwick Vets, ending in the parking lot of the former Backstop and former Benny's. Did you count the number of vacant storefronts? Your investment of about 15 minutes will provide all the electoral answers you need. Is the blight the fault of Mr. Solomon? No. But should he, somehow, be rewarded for 18 years of overseeing all this? Absolutely not!
