Cheryl,

“Word about town” is not always the most accurate news source. Be that as it may, what I don’t see on Mr. Cascella’s school committee page is exactly what I describe in my letter and what does appear on some, not all, SC candidate’s pages. Specifically, you don’t see pictures of him arm-in-arm with current, sitting City Council members whether at their own fundraisers, the Councilor’s fundraiser or local party-sponsored events, or a Council candidate’s field day, saying how grateful they are for the support. And you don’t see pictures of the candidate with a school principal at a school event where the principal is holding said candidate’s palm card (since removed). That’s the whole point of the letter. I know that there are some current SC members who are active members of their local party city committees and for me, that’s problematic, though it’s certainly their prerogative. For me, as long as I’m on the SC I won’t affiliate with a particular political party, nor will I seek support from other elected partisan officials either. But that’s just me.
