“People will sit here and bring lunch and stay for hours, not just quick ins and outs,” children’s librarian Pam Miech said. “People come here to meet with their friends, meet with their kids’ friends.”

This is all well and good but how about maintaining a little of your prime mission. Like replacing some quiet study space that you abandoned for a little used 'teen space'? Some folks don't have a quiet area to study. Come of us are in law school or graduate school and like a quiet place to study, outside of our homes. The current quiet study areas is a joke, made worse by your 'socialization' in order to justify staying open. Education is your prime mission. Reading is your prime mission. Let folks read without having loudmouthed kids and mothers of same yapping within feet of the alleged 'quiet space'.
