DNA didn't lead to the murder suspect.
The diligence of a police force that refused to "let the case get cold" did. They used DNA as the tool, but it was their commitment that solved this tragedy.
There was a man in Ayer Massachusetts that used DNA to prove his innocence after he was in prison for 17 years but, again, it wasn't the DNA that solved that case either. In that case it was the diligence of an innocent man that refused to quit and "let his case get cold".
DNA is a great aid. Thankfully we have a great police force that cared enough (for almost 6 years) to use it.
