The "old" School Committee had a deserved reputation of distrust in the eyes of the City Council and others. Add my name to the long list of "others". The new School Department, Mayor, and City Council are markedly more credible and although there still lingers a smaller element of distrust, it seems to be evolving into "caution". That is the best win-win that the 80,000 taxpayers that are paying the tab, could hope for.

The resulting meetings have produced an agreement that will disperse funds with confirmation of work done. Everybody wins! Congratulations to all mentioned above. In the past, certain "egos" were catered to. Today, the taxpayers, students, teachers, parents, and City Council members are working together, rather than against.

Happy St. Patricks everyone.
