Unified Government Commissioners to discuss allegations of firefighter corruption

United Government Mayor Mark Holland is squaring off against firefighters, alleging corruption within the Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department.
A special session of the Unified Government Commissioners is scheduled for Thursday evening.
Holland said firefighters are allowed to trade shifts on a limited basis, but he cites a recent payroll study that shows some firefighters have been trading shifts without reciprocating, indicating they were paid for work they did not perform.
