So I spent some time with my friend who is a retired Providence Cop. A good, old school guy who has a great reputation. He was telling me that the reason so many of the Providence cops took the fake disability route back in the 80's and 90's was because they got their 66 2/3 tax free pension. But on top of that they also got all of their contributions that they made into the pension system back.
It really puts these disabilities under a different light, there were significant financial benefits to sell out ones integrity and get that sweet disability.
