I just read the biased article on pensions you sited. The author wants public pensions put into the SS system. He states that public pensioners shouldn't be better off than those on social security. Really? People contribute no more than 7% of a limited amount of their pay to the SS fund. Public pensions require a percentage way above that. When I retired, the contribution was a whopping 11%. People in some places in RI are now paying 14%. That's a huge disparity.
In any event, should the world economy collapse as the author (hopes?) states, social security will need to take a beating along with public pensioners.
