Anytime the government doesn't make it's employees follow the laws it forces the rest of society to follow it's a bad deal. Sure employees pay about 7.5% FICA taxes, but so do their employers. If you're a private contractor you pay both sides, 15%. What % of public sector workers income do the taxpayers match for them?
Government has screwed the American people over by having different retirement systems. One for itself & one for the rest of us. Maybe the Coronavirus recession will be a catalyst for change into a more equitable system.
