To the Editor:
The article “Coming soon to Wildes Corner” in the March 17 edition of the Warwick Beacon was good news. Whenever an individual or a company chooses a new location in Warwick for investment, it can serve as a catalyst for other opportunities. As seen at Wildes Corner, an investment in one area often encourages growth in and around that development.
First a TD Bank branch office and a Burger King were built. Now plans for a Taco Bell and a larger development at the site of the old Newport Creamery are being discussed. An investment in one area is leading to new jobs and opportunities in another. The article highlights the working relationship between the City Planning Department and developers. When business leaders are able to work with city officials, the entire community benefits.
