Johnston businesswoman reopens opens Snogi

Johnston businesswoman Andrea Paz has bought the Snogi Frozen Yogurt shop at 262 Atwells Ave. in the heart of Providence’s Federal Hill and turned it into a family-friendly destination.

The business had been closed for nearly a year until Paz saw an opportunity to use her skills to reopen the self-serve operation.

Paz is well known as a party decorator in the area and saw an opportunity to apply her party planning skills into the yogurt shop, where parents could bring their children for birthday, graduation and special celebrations.

Paz is used to working long hours and plans to have the shop open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week, attracting families, residents and tourists during the day while offering a delicious, inexpensive dessert to Federal Hill restaurant-goers in the evening.

Snogi has attractive, colorful couches in addition to outside tables. Many customers will want to eat their frozen yogurt across the street at the fountain in DePasquale Square.

Snogi offers eight flavors, which may change according to popularity, plus 20 toppings. Customers fill their cups and weigh them, paying 50 cents an ounce.

Eating on Federal Hill does not have to be expensive. We like to enjoy our sausage and peppers at Angelo’s or an Italian sandwich at Costantino’s and then walk over to Snogi’s for a delicious, healthy dessert.
