Follow the yellow brick road!
That’s just what nearly 80 youth performers from across the state will do this weekend when they present “The Wizard of Oz” at Rhode Island College.
The children, ages 7 to 18, are part of Rhode Island Youth Theatre’s summer program, and have been rehearsing for the past three weeks at Carolyn Dutra Dance Studio in Warwick.
This weekend, with the accompaniment of a live orchestra, the performers will present the classic musical featuring songs from the famous movie.
Performances are Aug. 17 and 18 at 7 p.m. at Roberts Auditorium at the Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts at Rhode Island College. Tickets are $14 in advance and $16 at the door. Visit www.riyt.org for tickets and additional information.
