TIRES TAKEN

Officer Stephen Major was dispatched to the Villa Del Rio Apartments parking lot, 307 Greenwich Avenue, at approximately 12:30 p.m. on April 19 for the report of the larceny of tires and rims. Major met with a man, who said sometime that day after midnight but before 12:30 p.m., someone unknown to him put his car on the blocks and took all four rims and tires from his Acura. The approximate value of the tires is $3,000. Major said he checked with management and because the camera does not pan into the area where the man’s vehicle was parked, there was no video footage of the incident. No suspects.

Officers Javier Cabreja and Damian Andrews were dispatched to George Street at approximately 2:02 a.m. on April 27 for the report of an attempted larceny of tires. While en route to the call, Dispatch advised the reporting party said approximately three males scattered throughout the neighborhood when he turned his lights on. Cabreja said the victim’s vehicle had three wheels partially off with the lug nuts out. He said the vehicle dropped down on to the two cement blocks on the right side and the rear passenger side wheel was completely off. However, all wheels were present with the lug nuts in close proximity. The man said he was unable to get a clear description of the subjects, but he saw them take off eastbound on to Underwood Dr., which intersects with George St. Cabreja said numerous units canvassed the area in an attempt to locate the males. In the man’s written statement, he advised, “Loud bang heard at front of house. Looked out window, saw rims and tires off my 2013 Accord, car fell off rocks it was on. Turned on all lights to house, turned on emergency button on cars. Two three people running east on Underwood Dr. Unable to get physical description of people.” The man said the estimated damage was $2,000 and that he would like to press charges. He said he last used the vehicle at 6 p.m. on April 26.

MISSING A/C UNIT

Officer Scott Chanthaphouvong was dispatched to Greenwich Avenue at approximately 12:46 p.m. on April 24 in reference to a larceny complaint. Upon arrival, Chanthaphouvong met with the paralegal, who stated on behalf of her employer that he wanted to press charges against the suspect, if located, who had stolen the air conditioning unit that had been in the back of the building. Chanthaphouvong said the unit, which was last seen sometime around December 2014, would cost $2,500 to replace. No further information.

WALLET STOLEN

Officer Nicholas Reay was dispatched to the lobby at Warwick Police headquarters at approximately 3:25 p.m. on April 22 to meet with a woman, who said that her wallet had been stolen. She said on April 20 between 10 and 10:30 a.m., she went to Cumberland Farms to get gas. She said she set her wallet on the back of her car and drove off. After she returned to Cumberland Farms, she said she was not able to locate the wallet. She went inside to see if the staff had any video surveillance of the incident. She told Reay she returned on April 22 and met with staff but was informed the cameras didn’t reach the far side of the pumps where her vehicle had been located. The woman described the wallet as a Disney “Frozen” wallet with an approximate value of $10. It contained her driver’s license, Social Security card, debit card, miscellaneous gift cards, and some pictures. She said she would like to pursue criminal charges. Reay said the investigation will continue as new suspect information is developed.

Officer Javier Cabreja responded to Lerner Street at approximately 6:41 a.m. on April 28 for the report of stolen tires from a motorvehicle. Cabreja met with the victim, who said he last used his car at approximately 5:30 p.m. on April 27 and that his vehicle was in good condition. On April 28 at approximately 3 a.m., the man said his dog began to bark. The man said he went to his car at approximately 6:30 a.m. to find his vehicle missing a front driver tire and rim. He said the car had been allowed to drop on a large rock, causing damage to the driver side door. The man said the value of the tire and rim is about $600 and approximately $4,000 worth of damage for the front door. The man said he would like to press charges. No suspects.
