Conimicut Point Park playground swings received a facelift yesterday morning when team members from the Department of Parks and Recreation installed new equipment. Thanks to the efforts of Conimicut resident Leslie Derrig, the playground will be see upgrades as well as the installation of a handicap swing through a $5,000 legislative grant. To date $1,300 of the grant has been used and the playground will continue to see improvements in the coming months. Representative Eileen Naughton, Senator Michael McCaffrey, Councilman Joseph Solomon and Mayor Scott Avedisian, visited the playground yesterdays to view the improvements.
