Robert Charles Allen, affectionately known as Bob, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2023, at the age of 80 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. Bob was born on June 21, 1943, in Hartford, CT, to the late Henry Allen and Alice Cody Allen. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Allen, and his daughter, Kimberly Allen. He is survived by his Daughter Deborah Paiva and Brother Richard Allen.
Bob was a man of many talents and interests. He was the neighborhood Mr. fix-it and a dog whisperer. Known for his quick wit demeanor, Bob always had a joke or story to share. He loved fishing, whether it was on his boat, through the ice, or off the shore. Bob was an excellent cook and enjoyed trying new foods, but his favorite dish was Red Chicken Curry Noodle Soup.
Family was incredibly important to Bob. He adored his daughter, Deborah Paiva, and his grandchildren, Brandon Paiva, Kyle Aloisio, and Natalie Aloisio. He cherished spending time with them and was their biggest fan. Bob also had a special place in his heart for his two fur grandkids, Mr. Bear and Angie.
In his professional life, Bob dedicated over 35 years to the Jewelry Industry. He began his career at Napier Jewelry Co in Meridan, CT, where he held the title of Purchasing Manager. Later, he moved to Rhode Island, to work for Armbrust Chain as the National Sales Manager. Bob was also a member of the Providence Jewelers Club and served as its President. Throughout his career, he worked for other esteemed jewelry companies such as Hallmark Sweet, Kunzman Chain, and BA Ballou, where he retired as the National Accounts Manager.
Outside of work, Bob enjoyed pursuing his hobbies. Fishing remained a constant passion, and he always had a project to keep him busy. He loved puzzles, working in his yard (He had the most beautiful gardens), and, of course, cooking. Bob's culinary skills were unmatched, although he still enjoyed dining out and trying new dishes.
A celebration of life will be held in the Summer of 2024 to honor Bob's memory. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Saint Jude Children's Hospital, a cause close to his heart.
Bob will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will live on through the stories, laughter, and love he shared with everyone he encountered.
