Avvio Ristorante presents new seasonal menu

Avvio Ristorante, located at Garden City Center, 90 Hillside Road in Cranston, is celebrating fall with a new menu inspired by the season.

Avvio’s new seasonal starters, available at lunch and dinner, include Funghi Bruschetta with Narragansett Creamery burrata, wood-roasted mushrooms, shallot, herb butter, and basil on toasted garlic focaccia; Jeffrey’s Baby Greens with orange, grapefruit, red onion, dried pomegranate seeds, and a Dijon vinaigrette; and an Ancient Grains salad with red quinoa, Tuscan kale, whipped beet-goat cheese, roasted fall vegetables, toasted pecans, and a sherry vinaigrette.

Entrees feature an Italian Beef Calzone with slow-braised beef, cherry peppers, caramelized onion, mozzarella, and horseradish-roasted garlic aioli; Mascarpone-Butternut Squash Ravioli with apple cider-whiskey butter, roasted fall vegetables, and Granny Smith apples; Salmon served with roasted fall vegetable quinoa and apple-fennel mostarda; Scallops paired with confit potatoes, brussels sprouts, butternut squash puree, and red wine-cranberry gastrique; and Grilled Shrimp Risotto with sugar pumpkin puree, sautéed squash, cranberries, and arugula.

Avvio embodies the essence of everyday Italian dining; a place where friends and family gather, share laughs and celebrate milestones. With an open kitchen featuring a handcrafted Marra Forni wood-burning oven, guests are invited to harken back to a simpler time where the aromas of fresh herbs, baking dough and homemade sauce simmering on the stove mingle with the laughter and conversation of family and friends. As always, the Newport Restaurant Group’s focus on simple ingredients will be on display, sourced both locally and directly from Italy. Prepared with distinct, yet traditional cooking techniques, Avvio’s menu features inspired Italian classic dishes along with Neapolitan pizzas and wood-fire grilled entrees.
