Walter M. Bailey, 82, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Kent Hospital with his daughter by his side. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Walter and Frances (McMullen) Bailey. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Cheryl Andrade.
Walter devoted many years working at Rocky Point Amusement Park in Warwick before becoming an ironworker and a member of the Iron Workers Union. Later in his career, he worked with multiple Rhode Island jewelry establishments and shared his passion for music by hosting karaoke at various venues, affectionately known as Walter "Mudslide" Bailey.
Walter was the father of Susan B. Davis (Michael), the late Laurie S. Smith (Christopher), and the late Walter M. Bailey, Jr. He also leaves his grandchildren, Michael Davis, Ray Davis, Catie Smith, Samantha Smith, and Paige Smith.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 4 – 7 p.m., with a service following at 7 p.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, RI 02889.
