Groff, Barbara H., 89, of Warwick, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, with family and her cherished orange kitty by her side. Barbara was born in Lancaster, PA on April 20, 1934, to Linda and J.L. Holton. She was the beloved wife and soulmate of the late Enos Groff for 67 years. She was the treasured mother of Michael Groff (Jean), Richard Groff (Elizabeth), Linda Eibel (Nick), Karen Groff, and John Groff (Elizabeth); devoted grandmother of Nickolaus Eibel (Lauren), Jennifer Linton (Todd), Julie Silva, Matthew Groff (Samantha), Joseph Groff, Ellie Groff, and the late Michael Groff, Jr.; loving great-grandmother of Benjamin Eibel and Colin Groff. Barbara was predeceased by brothers Jack and Richard. She leaves behind a brother, Buster, and a sister, Cynthia.
Mom proudly volunteered at the Kent County Hospital gift shop for 25 years. In her day, she enjoyed seasonal decorating, handbags and shoes, flower design, and cooking. Her stellar apple pie and unforgettable chicken and dumplings will be fondly remembered. Most of all, we'll miss her feisty nature and warm hugs.
Mom and Dad's proudest accomplishment was raising their family. Dad summed it up by saying that while he was at work making a living, Mom stayed at home and made a life. We are forever grateful for their love and sacrifices.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (cff.org) or the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
