Perry, 4 others appointed to United Way board

United Way of Rhode Island (UWRI) has welcomed five community leaders, including Warwick resident Gregg Perry to its Board of Directors and appointed a new Board Chair. The installations were made during UWRI’s recent 92nd Annual Celebration on October 11.

Joining the UWRI Board of Directors for three-year terms in addition to Perry are, Junior Jabbie, President and CEO, Banneker Industries; Terri Monjar, VP, Senior Relationship Manager, Global Commercial Banking, Bank of America Merrill Lynch; Betsey Purinton, Managing Partner & CIO, StrategicPoint Investment Advisors; and Frank Sánchez, President, Rhode Island College

Assuming the role of Board Chair is Michele Lederberg, EVP, General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island. Lederberg succeeds Sandra J. Pattie, President and CEO of BankNewport, who served as chair for two years and will continue as a member of UWRI’s Board of Directors.

Gregg Perry, President, The Perry Group is a seasoned communicator who brings creative thinking, legal sensitivity and a unique perspective to help clients build, enhance and protect their reputation and brand. Offering extensive experience in media relations, message development, strategic planning, and crisis, litigation and marketing communications, he advises Fortune 500 companies, law firms, labor unions, universities, leading nonprofits and small businesses. Perry graduated from the University of Rhode Island with degrees in Journalism and Political Science, and is the recipient of the Publicity Club of New England’s Bell Ringer Award for Public Affairs.
