On Oct. 5 at approximately 2:18 a.m., Officer Brenen J. Cardoza was conducting a patrol on Warwick Avenue when he observed a Honda Accord traveling south in the breakdown lane. The vehicle was attempting to turn into the parking lot of Picasso’s Pizza and “nearly mounted a curb next to an entryway of the lot,” the officer reports.
Cardoza approached the vehicle and made contact with the operator, who he said “initially appeared to be in and out of consciousness.” The officer also detected a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the interior of the vehicle” and “observed an open container of Coors Light in the rear passenger area of the vehicle, as well as several empty nip bottles of Fireball whiskey.”
The operator is said to have acknowledged consuming alcohol that night and refused to submit to field sobriety testing.

Burr was issued a summons to appear in Third Division District Court on a charge of driving with a suspended license. He was additionally cited for refusal to submit to a chemical test, a laned roadway violation and turn signal required. He was transported to Kent Hospital for detox.
