Motorists are hopeful navigating the center of Apponaug village will improve once the roundabout at the four corners and the re-pavement of Post Road are completed. They would be right. But, as a spokesman for the Department of Transportation reminds, two-lane traffic will be a thing of the past. When finished, there will be a single lane traveling east with parking on both sides of the street in addition to a bicycle lane. The configuration of the circulator is designed so people seeking to avoid the center of the village will use Veterans Memorial Drive and then loop around to West Shore Road if that is where they are headed.
