Ward 6 Councilwoman Donna Travis said Wednesday she has requested additional police patrols following back-to-back fires extensively damaging unoccupied homes early Monday morning on Strand Avenue and Sea View Drive in Oakland Beach. She is also asking people to be on the lookout for any suspicious persons or activity. She said residents are nervous as the State Fire Marshal has determined both fires were the work of arsons and have posted both properties with “arson watch” notices. The notices offer $5,000 rewards for information leading to the arrest of a suspect. This notice is tacked to the side of the Strand Avenue property that has been fenced off. (Warwick Beacon photo)
