Teachers and the principal from the former Greene Elementary School gathered recently at Iggy’s Boardwalk in Oakland Beach to enjoy lunch and reminisce of their days at the school that was closed as part of the consolidation of elementary schools. The group shared personal stories and, naturally, recalled events from their days at Greene. From left are Karen McKenzie, Marcy Welch, Jack Welch, who taught at the school and went on to become principal, Alice Clarkin and Karen Sweet. Standing is Carol Gronostalski. (Warwick Beacon photo)
