Ocean State Job Lot hosted a luncheon June 1 at its corporate offices to help energize and refuel approximately 150 walkers participating in this year’s Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation’s GloriDays, a three-day, 44-mile walk to celebrate, honor, and remember those affected by breast cancer. Leading up to the luncheon, OSJL purchased hundreds of martial arts breaking boards, with 100 percent of proceeds going to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation. A board was purchased for each of its 131 stores and for every department at its corporate offices and distribution center for OSJL associates to decorate. The decorated boards were displayed throughout the luncheon at OSJL, and will be on display at this year's Flames of Hope weekend in October. GloriDays is an inspirational weekend aimed at raising awareness around breast cancer. Along with 44- and 24-mile walks, participants sleep under the stars at Goddard Memorial Park where they decorate tents, share stories and meet new people. GloriDays provides free education, programs, and support services to patients, survivors and their loved ones. Seen here with decorated boards are (from left) Mia Roy, Tammy Roy, Nancy Castellucci and Laura Agustini Lynch. (Submitted photo)
