Hoxsie School Principal Gary McCoombs is joined by sixth graders Chloe French and Annelise Demers at the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Kent County that started Friday night and ended Saturday morning at the West Warwick High School track. Having seen the effects of cancer and knowing that McCoombs had been named a Hero in Purple by the society, the two girls organized a soccer game – “kicks for cancer” – that helped a school campaign to raise $600 for the cancer society.
