On Monday, the City Council honored two Toll Gate wresting coaches. Jerry Sabotelli, head coach of Toll Gate varsity wrestling, began as the Titans coach in the 1999-2000 season and celebrated his 300th win on Feb. 5. Sabotelli won division championships in 2017, 2019 and 2020. He is a lifelong Warwick resident and Pilgrim High alumnus. His assistant coach, Joe Leal, started coaching at Toll Gate in the 2005-06 season and earned his 200th win also on Feb. 5. Leal is also a lifelong Warwick resident and a Warwick Veterans Memorial High School graduate. He joined Sabotelli in winning the team’s division championships.
