Shirley A. Smith, 82, died Sunday, March 10, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Henry L. Smith, Jr. Born in Warwick, Shirley was a daughter of the late Robert and Florence (Roberts) Broadbent. She had worked as a lunch aid with the Warwick School Department for many years, primarily at Hoxie Elementary School. Shirley was a lifetime member of the William Shields American Legion Post, Women’s Auxiliary. She leaves four daughters, Donna L. Fortin, Lori A. Pendley (Mark), Holly J. Tanzi (Joseph) and Toni L. Masterson (Ron). She was the loving grandmother of Nicole Smith, Jessica Cederholm, David Pendley, Macayla Scoco, Courtney Tanzi, Joseph Tanzi III, Michael Mester, Nathan Mester, Faith Masterson and Robert Masterson. She was also the great grandmother of Jade, Kyra, Karissa and the late Kailey. She is predeceased by her siblings Virginia Adams and Robert Broadbent.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 from 10-11am with a service at 11am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Cemetery.
