After less than a month’s respite, Shawomet Avenue residents on Saturday once again faced a storm and tidal surge. The wind driven waves crested seawalls in Conimicut and lifted floating docks on their pilings. A few adventuresome residents braved the rain, wind and high waters just to see how far they dared go before heading back to high ground. Fortunately, the storm passed quickly and with the ebbing tide the waters receded by mid morning. Warwick was largely spared the high winds that downed trees and caused power outages in North Kingstown and southern portions of the state. (Warwick Beacon photos)
